Yes, Bivouacker is a real word. I didn't know it either. The dictionary defines it as "One who bivouacs". Of course, to bivouac is to camp with the army, especially only for a short time. So this page is for all of you bivouackers out there who have tips and tricks for camping at events to share. We would love to hear what you have to say.

William,
While going to a project this week I noticed that the Northern Neck was having a reinactment. Will you be involved?

I have not heard about it. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Where exactly did you hear about it? I would definately be interested to find out more about it.

I have a question i made a denim haversack and was wondering would it be period

It is possible, although not documented. Denim, or "hickory" cloth was used during the period, but mostly for Mens' trowsers. I have also seen a man's tailcoat from the 1830's made of blue denim. Cotton twills are quite common for that period, especially cotton jean (different from denim, but used just as much). What color is the denim you used?
